Community Involvement

Each year, the ERTH Group of companies donates thousands of dollars to local charities throughout our communities, including food banks, shelters, community programs and services. We recognize that many of our community members face unique life challenges, financial hardship, and homelessness. Through charitable donations, ERTH aims to help our communities’ most vulnerable find hope and get back on their feet.

During the holiday season, ERTH Power crews help local municipalities to decorate their downtown streets by hanging holiday wreaths using bucket trucks. ERTH Power also enjoys participating in holiday parades in several of our service communities. 

As a local employer and municipally owned organization, it is important to ERTH Power and our shareholders that people choose to work and live in our communities. Together with community partners, ERTH Power participates in local career expos to promote jobs, help youth explore careers in the utility industry, and highlight how much our communities have to offer.

The ERTH Annual Charity Golf Tournament brings utility industry professionals, partners, municipal stakeholders, and vendors together to support a local charity in our community. Each year, ERTH chooses a different charity that benefits our communities. Throughout its 15-year running, ERTH has donated more than $150,000 to local charities through this event.

Each year, ERTH Power assembles a hockey team to participate in the Ontario Electric Utility Hockey Tournament. The event brings together utility workers from across the province to compete in a friendly hockey tournament for a great cause.

ERTH Power is proud to support several local youth sports teams and events each year through rotating sponsorships. From ringette and hockey to soccer and baseball, we sponsor a variety of different sports to help keep kids active.
