ERTH Power is issuing a warning to its customers regarding a recent telephone scam targeting customers in our service territory.

The scam involves fraudulent callers claiming to represent ERTH Power, threatening to disconnect electricity services if payment is not made immediately. These scammers may utilize tactics of intimidation and urgency to coerce victims into making payments. It’s important to note that ERTH Power does not conduct business in this manner.

We urge all customers to remain vigilant and use caution if they receive suspicious calls. Remember, ERTH Power will never demand payment over the phone, nor will we request payment via eTransfer, bitcoin, or gift card.

If you suspect that you have been targeted by this scam or receive a suspicious call, please hang up immediately. Furthermore, we encourage you to report the incident to your local police department or contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
